THALASSA HOLDINGS provided Marine & Commercial Diving Services, to one of the most active Emergency Response Companies in Worldwide Marine Casualties, including Marine Salvage, Towage & Wreck Removal Operations, always protecting the Marine Environment from Pollution, as well as the Property & Life at Sea. It was a quite difficult Marine Salvage Operation at open sea with very strong current. A 47m yacht suffered several hull damages and water ingress, after grounding in shallow reef. Salvage Tugs were mobilized, having onboard the required Salvage Personnel & Equipment for emergency response. The yacht was successfully refloated & removed the vessel from the reef, after lifting her by a floating crane barge, as well as after the u/w patching and dewatering. Then, the Sailing Yacht was towed to shipyard for the further repairs. The on-site works & repairs included: The survey of the bottom areas of concern (grounded spots). The patching of the openings by wedges, wet welding & epoxy putty. The crack arrest by drilling & the oxy-arc cutting. All works were performed under Client’s, Underwriter’s Representative & Class Surveyor’s satisfaction.
