
THALASSA HOLDINGS provided Marine & Commercial Diving Services to one of the biggest leaders in the energy sector, in Greece and in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region, established in 1970.
The scope of work was the inspection at 25m WD, of the anchor chains which connect the cement blocks with the mooring buoys, as well as the inspection of the old steel pier pillars.
The on-site work included the cutting of the Kenter Shackles from the cement blocks and then the floating crane barge to lift the mooring buoys and their chains for further examination, maintenance & repair.
Also, included the removal/cutting in 2 pieces of the old steel pier pillars (25m L, 1,8m D, 35mm Thickness & 60 tons weight each).
The 1st cut was performed in 12m WD with hydraulic cutting tools and the 2nd cut was performed in 23m WD by Oxy-Arc/Burning practice, as per HIRA procedures of the refinery.
All works were performed under Client’s & Technical Manager’s satisfaction.
