THALASSA HOLDINGS provided Marine and Commercial Diving Services to Motor Oil Hellas at Agioi Theodoroi – Corinth, one of the leading energy sector companies in Greece and the wider Eastern Mediterranean region, established in 1970.
Scope of Work:
The project involved underwater inspection at a depth of 25 meters, focusing on the anchor chains connecting cement blocks to the mooring buoys, as well as the structural inspection of the old steel pier pillars.
On-site operations included:
Cutting of Kenter shackles from the cement blocks
Lifting of mooring buoys and their anchor chains using a floating crane barge for further examination, maintenance, and repair
Removal of old steel pier pillars, each measuring 25 meters in length, 1.8 meters in diameter, with a wall thickness of 35 mm and weighing approximately 60 tons
The first cut was executed at 12 meters water depth using hydraulic cutting tools
The second cut was executed at 23 meters water depth using Oxy-Arc/burning methods, in accordance with the refinery’s HIRA procedures
All works were successfully completed to the satisfaction of the Client and the Technical Manager.
